So you're thinking of using OpenJUMP in your student project

Is this a good idea? If you can match the scope of the task to your available timetable, it can be. A good rule of thumb to follow is avoid trying to create totally new capabilities. A student project should be original, but not groundbreaking. It should do something that can't easily be done with existing OpenJUMP commands, but don't choose something that requires an intense study of undocumented interfaces.
